The Rough Tiger Eye has arrived

The consignment of rough Tiger Eye has arrived and will be listed in our shop this weekend

A selection from the newly arrived tiger eyeYes, the rough Tiger Eye has arrived and there is a good amount of it. I am pleased to say it’s all good quality and in good size chunks as well, all of which would fit on an 8″ saw blade.

For the Lapidary these chunks of Tiger Eye rough offer the chance of many cabochons per chunk and they are also a good size for the mineral collectors display case.

As always I will list these in the rough rock shop as individual items allowing you to buy as much or as little as you need.

I aim to get this Tiger Eye live on the shop this weekend.

Best regards

Dave

Got to get some Cabachons made

As you will be aware, the rough rock shop is live. So now I have to get some Cabochons made to go in the shop, think I will start with some Labradorite and then do some Lapis Lazuli, simply because O have some of these two already slabbed, now I just need to make the to go and do it!

Rough Rock Shop Open

There is a good range of rough rock from all over the world to be found in the shop, much of it has been imported by us over the last few years.

The New Rough Rock shop has now been populated and is now live.

There is a good range of rough rock from all over the world to be found in the shop, much of it has been imported by us over the last few years.

The aim of our shop is to offer rough rock that is already in stock the UK which will get rid of the nasty surprises that sometimes happen when packages arrive from abroad, for example the unforeseen customs charges or the carriers “admin” charges and of course the long wait for it to arrive. All of our rough is in stock here in the UK and will be sent by Royal Mail first class, usually the day after you make your order.

The rough rock we offer is all good quality, we know this because it’s the same rough that we use in our Lapidary workshop to make the semi precious gemstones that Shalini uses in her jewellery, which you can see in her jewellery showroom.

Our rough rock may also be of interest to those involved in crystal healing and mineral collectors as well, of late we have been very pleased to see how knowledgeable children are in this field and they always leave our stall at craft markets with some tumble stones.

At this time we still have to add a large stock of Soronan Moss Agate to the shop which will be done after it has been photographed. There is also quite a lot of Ruby rough that will be suitable to the facetter’s out there to be added as well.

At the time of writing we also have a large amount of African Tiger eye winging it’s way to us, this will be listed in the shop soon after its arrival.

Although we have primarily set this shop up for the UK market, we are more than happy to post abroad but just keep in mind, overseas postage charges will have to be calculated so its best to contact us first if you find something you are interested in.

New Rough Rock Shop Coming Soon

I am currently in the process of redeveloping the rough rock shop. I spent most of yesterday doing a complete stock check of our rough and believe me, we have plenty of it

Update: The Rough Rock Shop is now 50% populated and I hope to complete it today, please see the Rough Rock Shop tag above.

As you may have noticed if you have visited the blog recently, I am currently in the process of redeveloping the rough rock shop. I spent most of yesterday doing a complete stock check of our rough and believe me, we have plenty of it.

Because of high postage costs to non UK locations we are primarily focussing this shop toward the UK Lapidary or anyone who has an interest in semi precious rough rock, minerals and crystals. However, I will post abroad but shipping costs will have to be worked out on an individual basis.

There will be a wide variety of rough on offer which will be suitable for cutting, tumbling and some nice pieces for the mineral specimen collector as well.

I will also be offering pre-cut slabs as well which will be ideal for those Lapidaries who have smaller saws. And for the Jewellery maker, I will also offer some free form cabochons which we have made for sale.

Anyway here is a list of what you can expect to find in the Rough Rock shop:

Rose Quartz
Sodalite
Ladradorite
Green Aventurine
Blue Aventurine
Pink Aventurine
Chevron Amethyst
Seftonite (South African Bloodstone)
Citrine
Bloodstone
Blue Lace Agate
Denim Lapis Lazuli
Porcelain Jasper
Soronan Moss Agate

I hope to have the Rough Rock shop up and running by the end of this month.

Best regards

Dave
